Scarlett Johansson, American actress (born on the 22nd of November 1985 New York City New York) was praised for her acting abilities across the genres of historical dramas, thrillers and action-packed films. Johansson was born in New York City, and raised there by her producers mother and father, who were both architects. Hunter Her twin and Johansson both were the smallest of the four kids. From a young age she discovered a passion in acting. She began auditioning for commercials when she was seven. Soon after she enrolled at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute and afterward was a student at the Professional Children's School in Manhattan to further hone her craft. In the Off-Broadway play Sophistry she performed with Ethan Hawke at age 8 as well as in North produced by Rob Reiner in 1994 she was the first to appear in a film. Johansson then appeared in Just Cause (1995) but her breakthrough was Manny & Lo (1996) a coming-of-age film about abandoned sisters who escape. In the following film, she won critical praise for portraying an teen girl who sustained injuries that made her look a bit swollen as she appeared in The Horse Whisperer (1998). In 2001, she gained attention for her performance in Ghost World (2001) as the cynical outcast Rebecca. Renee Felice Smith began her path into the world of entertainment at an early age. She became interested in acting as a young child. Smith's parents aided her in having her first performance at age six. In a commercial on television her character was Dannon Yogurt. Similar to many young actresses she decided to build her talent in the theatre. While she made her on-stage debut with Wildflower she would also work in various projects throughout the USA. She studied at The Stonestreet Studios Conservatory of the New York University Tisch School of the Arts.
